The service
Sentinel runs scheduled checks against a server or estate you nominate and delivers a report on what it found. The scope of each engagement, including the hosts covered and the sweep schedule, is agreed in writing before the first sweep.
Access
You grant a scoped account for the purpose of running checks. You confirm you are entitled to authorise access to the hosts and services covered. You may revoke access at any time, which ends the service for that host.
What Sentinel does not do
Sentinel reports. It does not apply changes to your systems without your written approval. It is not a substitute for a managed firewall, endpoint protection or an incident response service.
Findings and limits
Sentinel tests what its checks cover. A clean sweep means the checks found nothing, not that the system is free of every possible weakness. Testing is non destructive by default; intrusive tests are agreed in advance and scheduled with you.
Confidentiality
Reports are confidential to you. We do not name clients or publish findings without written permission. Personal information is handled as described in the privacy policy.
Fees and payment
Fees for setup and ongoing sweeps are quoted after the briefing and invoiced monthly in advance unless agreed otherwise. Payment terms are 14 days from invoice date.
Liability
We perform the checks with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by South African law, our liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees paid for the three months before the claim. We are not liable for loss caused by changes you make to your own systems.
Ending the engagement
Either party may end the engagement on 30 days written notice. On termination we hand over the final report and remove the access granted for the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
